The Story
Although Berio makes use of a wide variety of playing techniques and modes of expression in Sequenza XI, the guitar largely retains the sounds we usually associate with it, especially the world of flamenco. Fortissimi and passages marked violento recur, but the basic mood is one of reflective, melancholy introspection.
