The Story

Glorya Kaufman is a Los Angeles–based philanthropist who founded the Glorya Kaufman Dance Foundation. Her foundation provides the opportunity for underprivileged kids to take dance classes at Inner-City Arts and the Mar Vista Family Center, both in Los Angeles. The Foundation is a major contributor to the Los Angeles Music Center, The Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, The Julliard School, and many other arts organizations.

Review: "Gloryous Dance Affair" is for anyone who loves dance and will fill your heart with love, passion, and hope to keep dancing. When you read this book you realize that to keep living, we must keep dance somewhere in our lives. I literally looked through my dresser drawers and put my old ballet shoes on again.

This book is much more than Glorya Kaufman’s memoir. It’s about family, unconditional love, triumph, and resilience. It’s about contribution and purpose, overcoming obstacles and despair, without ever giving up. To quote Ms. Kaufman, ā€As long as I have the strength and will to do so, I will leave no dance undanced!ā€ What a wonderful way to look at life. If you are feeling like there aren’t any angels or heroes out there in the dance world, you need to read this book and take in all its inspiration for life.
