We can find the dating at the end of the last piece: Budapest 1909, III. 17. The series was published in 1910, it was premiered in the same year at the composers recital by Bartók. The titles are: I. Lento, II. Andante poco rubato, III. Lento-Andante, IV. Allegretto scherzoso, V. Furioso (quos ego), VI. Moderato triste, VII. Allegro giocoso, VIII. Allegretto grazioso, IX. Allegro comodo, burlesco).
